REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPIST
THALIA SHULIST
I've been living in Golden and working as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2015. I'm happy to be a part of the vibrant community that makes up our town! The inspiration behind my practice is to continue nurturing the vibrancy and vitality of our community through facilitating awareness of a person's health and well-being. I believe that we are all able to bring this quality of well-being into our lives by recognizing the potential in one's own self! I use Massage and Craniosacral therapy to facilitate a deeper connection to the physical body in hopes that this awareness continues to provide feedback and strengthens the intuitive messaging system that already exists in each person, allowing them to better access what their body wants and needs to heal!
I was drawn to Massage Therapy after finishing a Bachelors Degree in Human Kinetics. This education gave me a solid 'backbone' in human biology, anatomy, and physiology. My love for movement, sport, and working with people in a meaningful way led me to pursue massage therapy studies whilst still working seasonally at backcountry lodges in the mountains. Once settling in Golden, I sought to develop a deeper relationship and practice within the community itself. It has been very rewarding building a strong sense of connection to a place and growing group of wonderful people I have the honour of working with! |
When not in my treatment room, I'm often found skiing, biking, gardening, cooking & eating, music-making, and/or getting together with friends to do any of these activities.

ABOUT CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the craniosacral system- the system responsible for the flow of essential fluid between the cranium (head) and the sacrum (base of spine) via the spinal cord. This craniosacral system is directly linked to the function of the Central Nervous System. The therapist assesses and facilitates the body to release subtle restrictions in this system that may be causing pain or disfunction. CST compliments the body's natural healing processes and can be used to treat a variety of conditions including:
WHAT TO EXPECT FOR YOUR FIRST CRANIOSACRAL VISIT?
Unlike massage therapy, you will remain fully clothed for the treatment. I suggest wearing comfortable or loose-fitting clothing. You will be positioned lying on your back or seated, depending on your comfort and ability. I will often start by holding your feet, assessing the body and being directed to the areas that require attention in a sequence of priority your body indicates. Some areas may cue me to ask you what you may be feeling in that specific part of the body. The sensations that may come up in that area can be very relevant to the release of that particular restriction in the body. You may experience a deep sense of calm during or after the treatment is over. Because CST works with the body's natural healing process, subtle shifts and changes in the body may even continue to be felt days after the session as your body integrates those changes.
